At the time when I wrote it I had known more people who used "feeling unworthy" (of some improvement in their life - a better income, better lifestyle, or love...) as an excuse to not give something new a try.
But the pervasive sense of feeling unworthy erodes the ability to perceive, respond to, and act in positive situations, and leads to self-sabotage, defeatist attitudes, and a poor self-picture.
There is a big difference between the two.
The latter should be challenged. The former should be understood (no interference is needed, and no stimulation tends to have much effect).
