The people I admire make me ask: How would she act in a scenario like that? How would he handle this situation?
Sometimes I borrow their style, or channel them, sometimes I have an idea of how I can approach the issue in a way that is helpful and intelligent.
If this angle is useful to you, remember that a role model can only be someone who does certain things better than you.
Not someone who does worse than you. That is when you make bad choices. Instead of going up, you are going down. That defeats the purpose of a role model. Discernment is a must.
