Well written, Jessie.
I remember reading about the story too. It could have been him. She surely escaped a creep who had a sinister plan - even if he “only” looked like Ted Bundy… or happened to “like” the same (?) car interior.
I am glad that she managed to get out of that car! And that she went to a party after the incident and could tell the story many years later. I was struck by her choice of words about the alarm she felt while in such proximity to that driver. If anyone feels anything like that, get the hell out!
Think of Debbie Harry, and leave. Escape. Jump. Run to safety. Whatever is necessary to put (a huge) distance between you and that person!
The image of the "look alike" on Facebook is a bit distracting, though. First, the lady does not look like Debbie Harry - even though she tried hard to get the make-up right. Second, it does not add to your story. I do not particularly enjoy pointing out details that weaken a story. But in this case - being a Blondie fan and just having read a gripping story on Medium by you -, I thought I'd let you know that it is better without it.
