Sustainability Is Beauty, and Beauty Is Sustainability

A good moment for the photographer whose name I will know and post, if he reaches out.

“A bird may be ever so small, it always seeks a nest of its own.”

Danish Proverb

The ecological affirmation of the wisdom seems to be everywhere now, in late January. The nests in the barren trees pop out to my mind. Even my dreams and spirit messages dwell on “bringing the home in order.” Until a few years ago, I would have interpreted that as, “Home is Gaia, take care of the earth”; now I believe that it is about our personal homes too, the places we dwell in, and, of course, our bodies.

Environmentalism begins at home. Right relationship with the resources begins with you. It begins with me. Let me add a second thought:

We take very good care of the things we love. Therefore, the more pleasant we make our homes, the more we enjoy living in there, the more care we will put into maintaining them — because it feels good to wake up and go to sleep in a place of pleasure.
