Repair Your Thinking, Prioritize Well-Being
The avoidance of comfort at all costs is a trauma response.
We hear a lot about the opposite, about the avoidance of new information, of conflict, of fact-based discussions…
But the fact that so many millionaires — in the media and in visible professions — are actively encouraging war, wars, vigilance, self-defense and dissatisfaction, not to forget that they profit of people’s highly alarmed, disgruntled, angry and fearful reactions can tell you what the intent of those clusters of “information” is, how healthy the messengers are and that they will not be functioning within a culture of peace.
It is indeed remarkable that, with their dazzling resources and private advantages, they can access all kinds of comforts, self-improvement trainings and services, but that they don’t want their audiences to have comforts and to improve their lives and raise the quality of their lives. What little comforts their audiences have, those are being attacked
— through broadcasts of fear
— by discouraging education, research and mental activity
— by outrageous claims, the focus on irrelevant clashes of opinion, catastrophizing about calm and the use of the frontal cortex, while elevating manipulation, criminal and war intelligence, minimizing the easy-to-find results in people who have thought like them in past.
Make no mistake: they have been trained to present things in the way that makes sense to traumatized people and that does not make sense to people who have healed from trauma.
Consume their words with caution. Use your objective mind when you absorb their claims. Who is saying that? How do they live? Are they alcoholics and gamblers behind the scenes? Are their children addicts or in trouble? What do they do with the wealth they are amassing because you are buying their products?
If you look deeply, you can decide if their products are worth your resources, your mental stability, your vital energy, your hopes for the planet and for your descendants, and if what you see — through deep looking — is worth continuing at all.
By looking deeply, you can become responsible and clear-headed. Becoming capable of responsible decisions and owning a clear mind are great gifts to the people you meet and, of course, to those who love you.
