Welcome to Earth Send, appreciators, co-creators and reiki practitioners,

On this sterling Friday in June, we are gathering to meditate on the well-being for all life and to connect with our gratitude for Earth, Source and every thing we find awesome and awe-inspiring. We broadcast good thoughts to all willing to receive them, and we send reiki to all healing requests and to the portable creativity tools you’ve brought today — each Bucket List/Vision or Action Map/Letter to the Future, each Gratitude Container, and each Gallery of Mudita.

Friday remains our fixed day for Earth Sends. It happens at your chosen time. Remember, we sync on Fridays, by day only, while you select your hour, or your minutes.

Your creativity tools are going to become more and more precious to you and will satisfy you more than anything you can listen to. Of course, you can start small and feature humble goals, moments of gratitude, moments of sympathetic joy and reverence, but I encourage you to give big things their place — in your creativity tools — too.

Set Up A Space For Meditation

Hopefully you’ve set up a space where you have enough privacy and enough time to go within.

In many parts of the world, even in less than ideal places in the so-called advanced world, it’s a luxury to have a place where you can withdraw for an hour. Today we are grateful to our spaces that provide the backdrop for inner work and meditation. We also meditate for the people living in chaos or in war zones outside of and within our country’s borders: may they find a place of safety today, respite soon, and new digs where they can rest, dream, and improve the conditions in their lives.

For many, including myself, quiet time was a rare commodity growing up. My first two young adult apartments were places where I could withdraw, regroup and meditate. Soon after, I discovered reiki, and I started practising it.

My spiritual journey had already begun in my late teens. Not because things were rosy or I “could afford” it. Most inopportune and unusual interests or gifts surface due to less friendly causes, and I was no exception. It’s a (long!) story for another time. By 25 June 1995, when I got my first reiki attunement, I had already participated in many creativity-boosting programs related to complementary alternative medicine, I had received hands-on healing from untrained, though talented, givers; and I got an inkling of what the future with reiki might be. I took to practising daily from the start. I had a routine right away, although ironically the scene and the settings I was in were so at odds with (in fact opposed to) introspection and self-cultivation, except through substance abuse or grave crises, where I didn’t fit in, and I kept up my routine despite everything around me. The first decade with reiki brought many course-altering changes as well. On 25 June 2005, I was a mother of an energetic toddler, married, living on a different continent, and I founded Rainbow Tribe Reiki. Our members were eager to have a group meditation with a reiki send, so we agreed on Friday, and the rest is history. Happy 20 Years of Earth Send! Happy 30 years of reiki practice to me.

I repeat now that our Earth Sends go on all summer, although I have to take breaks from sending out invites, and I tell you why below.

Inner Smile

Run the Inner Smile through your body, greeting every part of you.

Bird’s Eye View

Imagine rising up through the roof of the place you’re in, just so that you see your neighbourhood with one glance and you’ve become a tiny dot. From bird’s eye view, what information can you offer your small self on the ground?

Be open to hear the unexpected. Write it down after the session.

Bird’s Eye View communicates concisely. Along the lines of “Get up,” “Go there!”, “Clean up!”, “Take this road instead”, “Deadline’s looming, cut the nonsense”, “Introduce yourself to…” The closest gadget to Bird’s Eye View we have in our lives is a non-flirtatious GPS. Bird’s Eye View sounds somewhat like a GPS, and its function is not far from it, either.

Mind chatter, reactive, self-defensive, street smart thinking, heavy logic, vainglory, or just regular solution browsing sound more like your own thoughts, whereas Bird’s Eye View is less self-reassuring and not about ego. It is about percipience and the long view.

If Bird’s Eye View sounds like a new ager after an ayahuasca retreat, or a preacher, you got the wrong channel. As cartoonish or as fun as that may be, establish a clear connection with Bird’s Eye View, and trust what you perceive. No stagy elements are needed.

Ways to Practise Bird’s Eye View

Since I write about it, I use Bird’s Eye View to navigate through traffic. Especially recently when time tables and transit routes changed in my city, I got comfortable with letting Bird’s Eye View inform me. So whenever I got “Bus is arriving in short, stay here”, or “Walk 3 blocks, the one going your direction will stop there soon,” I gave it a shot!

We practise all the suggested techniques in order to determine whether we can rely on them. Please don’t believe anything until you try and it works, and don’t just read about it. Reading only tells you that something exists, but you only know its benefit if you’re willing to engage with it. (And, if something doesn’t give you results, let go of it!)

So far, I arrived at my destinations on time and without upsets. I also watched the bus pass by when I decided that Bird’s Eye View wasn’t telling me anything. Go figure.

Now I’ll test Bird’s Eye View more often, in situations where I don’t have the big picture and don’t know how to go about a task.

Now return to the ground and to the present moment.

Land and Watershed Acknowledgement

As you acknowledge the territory you’re on, be as formal and warm as you want to be. Thank the water you can drink and the land you can grow your food on. Thank the water protectors and the land artists who made this possible. Think about the link between then and now and now and later: what role are you playing? Are you ready to step up?

Today’s Focus: Heart-Link, Reiki to Recipients and Our Creativity Tools

Reiki is flowing to all healing requests and to every creativity tool brought to this session.

Your creativity tools are the seeds and seedlings of your future. Precise goal selection is paramount to what your harvest will be.

So your bucket list/vision board/letter to the future is going to be updated more often than your gratitude container, or your gallery of mudita (people who are motivating you and give you counsel; ideally you expand rather than edit it). Your gratitude container can hold repetitions of the same and subsequently expands, too. But your bucket list/vision map/letter to the future will look new after you check off an item and make space for a new goal.

The Five Reiki Precepts: Guidelines to Reiki Practitioners

Just for today,

I will not worry

I will not anger

I will work honestly

I will honour my elders and teachers

I will be grateful for my many blessings

The reiki precepts are the compass we return to. We course-correct when needed (and we need to more often than anyone is ready to admit), and we gain confidence from meeting them.

For the Celebration of the Week

This week, let’s put an emphasis on the positive aspects of our journey with meditation, with manifestation, with reiki, with Earth Sends. This is balancing the brain’s negativity bias and a call to be appreciators this early summer. Let me give you a few prompts for what may have and likely has unfolded since you’re with Earth Send:

✓ You’ve become rooted in your region and networking.

✓ You’ve become knowledgeable about the local treasures, hardiness zone, biosphere, the movement of water in the land, the water cycle, or about growing food.

✓ You’re better prepared for disasters and volatile weather patterns.

✓ You’ve raised your outlook, approach and stress management to new levels.

✓ You manifested a few things you desired and love — what a wonderful skill!

✓ You’ve made progress in your meditation in regards to length and depth.

✓ You’ve discovered resources you couldn’t even imagine you had.

✓ You’ve ignited your motivation and self-excitement.

✓ You’ve worked on your perseverance. You’ve shown yourself that you can do it.

✓ You’ve gained skills at something you used to hesitate about or push away or had no access to previously.

Celebrate that. It’s an accomplishment.

Later in the week, take a good, long look at the luckier spheres of your life, and ask yourself: Why am I lucky here?

As the answers start rolling in, you’ll find a few themes that you might be able to replicate, or modify your approach with.

Marvelous Milestone: Two Decades of Earth Send

We made it happen! On Wednesday, 25 June 25, 2025, we observe a fabulous anniversary: 20 years of Earth Send Fridays. Woohooooo! Congrats. To everything we’ve learned and to the many people we helped, congrats, too! I’m happy for them, for us, for you and for me!

Self-Quiz: the State of Your Well-being

As you rate your satisfaction from 1–10 regarding:

Awareness of what needs repair is clarifying, and awareness of what you’ve already moved to a better score is noteworthy.

Recall what happened that put you in motion:

How did you get yourself to drink more water or change your diet? How did you know that you had to move to a better neighbourhood? What made you commit to a new workout? What convinced you to bring order into your finances, or your red tape matters? How did you know that it was time to get your medical exams and your teeth cleaned? What made you apply for that new job, or launch that business? What made you pick up your instrument, your water colours, your inks again? What made you enroll in a dance or cooking class? What happened inside you before you started to reach out to new people and forge new friendships? How have you conquered your sleep deprivation?

Recall the steps you took and the moment you knew “That’s it. I’m doing it!

I’ll use my example with hooping. It started out well, but I got sucked into a time-consuming project that shook up my routines, and I felt that I couldn’t cram it in anymore. My excuses bored me, but I had no solution either. However, after that project, I decluttered, cleaned up and reorganized parts of my living room. Ta-da! I woke up, picked up the hoop again, made a play list, and I was back to hooping. My lower back is much happier now that I’m back in the groove.

Conclusion: Clean up the room where you do one activity of choice. The qi will flow in freshly and facilitate what before seemed full of obstacles. Literally. Make space.

Earth Resonance

The media have been unbelievably successful at confusing us about our own priorities and what we can shape during our waking hours. The philosopher Socrates said “The unexamined life is not worth living”, and guess what people who consume news, or shows, for more than 45 min a day deprive themselves of? Where does the deep look at how we spend time go, hmmm…?

The media keep shocking us with news about catastrophes and political catastrophes and keep implying that another war is inevitable, while social media trolls claim that data are interpretations and that awakening is impossible, naive and without merit. Sometime before the covid-related social distancing measures, I faced up to the news that much of what we had put our focus on as a group — purification of the sea waters and rivers, coexistence with the human family, coexistence with animals and nonhuman living beings, reconciliation processes between the wronged and the violators, among others — would turn real in our lifetime. “We” elect corrupt, ruthless leaders who oppose decent decisions, against the collective will and despite the practicability, resources and know-how to launch them. As dreary as that was (evil is so mind-numbing and predictable), it moved some of us to civic engagement and local activism where we can make a difference that we notice, to closer communication with the ecology, to learning about other ways to help and not harm. Some of us patched up relationships with our families of origin, or processed what was in our power to move, or started to repair health. Many of us embraced a different chapter with less burdens and more wholesome interests. I can’t speak for everyone… I am well aware that some Earth Send participants still haven’t turned the page and are in a repeat cycle of high drama and living in precarious settings, but it’s not for lack of effort. Karmic lessons challenge everyone.

So I brought back attention to what we can affect. More focus on ourselves is nurturing and a way to self-parent (what a healing concept to all who grew up neglected) and to steer the wheel to where we’re heading.

We learn useful skills. We learn from what fosters well-being. We learn from the regenerative processes the Earth is showing. We learn from thriving, fruitful landscapes.

Whatever we can not do much about, we mist. Water is an answer to confusion and tension, a pause in the hustle, a very hospitable harmonizer, a refreshing cleaning agent. We mist the air around us, our limits and thoughts and feelings about news that upset us, and we telepathically mist regions in disarray.

Nature’s Clues

What has nature revealed to you this week? Has any encounter with a tree, a messenger animal, the night sky moved something inside you: that special sense of interconnectedness and of interspecies sharing, about your place in the web of life, or a great idea?

Members, to what earth-friendly action are you committing this summer?

Newcomers, if you’ve passed by the roses without smelling them, stop the next time and smell them. Take in their beauty. The first step to familiarity is attention and observation.

Become familiar with the land you live on. Open your curiosity to what is there.

Write down what nature has shown you and what you’re doing to become kinder to the earth.

Linger in the Morphic Field of Well-Being

Do make oases of your spaces. It changes the way you move through life, it raises the quality of your life, and it expands your capacity to receive.

Consider making oases of a micro space first: a vehicle, a tool room, a bathroom, a terrace, a drawer, or a backpack.

Reiki Requests, and Do Your Part

Healing requests are always welcome and can be renewed.

Please be reachable while you — or a person, pet, or cause you nominated — are receiving our reiki. The group will stay tuned to your objective and can celebrate your positive news. The terminally ill and those unable to reply are not expected to update us. It is still good when we get signs of what is happening.

We also send reiki to many life events that require active participation — exams, births, promotions, family reunions, meeting a soul mate, and so on — , so feedback on your progress is vital. It keeps us connected to your situation and united in supporting you toward a good outcome.

Announcements

I will take breaks from writing invitations. There is construction work on my street, my free time is occupied with home upgrades and repairs this summer, and unpostponable stuff I have to deal with.

Despite the time crunch and the noise pollution, I will be restructuring the invitation into micro lessons — for convenient look-up, a bit more order, and to make space in the invitations for topics of interest. The practices we’ve incorporated into the Earth Send are highly functional and elegant, but I typed them so often that I want to offer them in a different format and trust that whoever wants to refresh their memory or is starting out from scratch will look them up, without me having to talk so much about them.

Our Fridays are happening, and the Earth Send goes on, even though I’m taking a break from sending out invitations.

Indeed, it is the perfect season to savour and to draw from when you envision your Island of Self.

Open-air concerts, events and festivals, garage sales, garden exhibitions, boat rides take people to the outdoors and make for interesting encounters and connections.
