Aloha, appreciators and co-creators,

we are meeting in our meditation for the well-being of all life and in our Earth Send.

It is a new moon, new moon in Aquarius, the last day of the old Chinese and Vietnamese Year, and a gentle passage to spring in the land. In Vancouver BC, February used to be infused by “almost spring” and early spring impressions. This year, in hardiness zones much colder than Vancouver, the promise of spring is spreading in the air, too. So many irreversible earth changes are happening. To a person with a foot injury, it is a gift to walk on streets without sleet, ice and snow. The birds are singing, too. The air is full of aromas that I associate with tree buds and greening. Just for today, I am not ruffled by the mild and pleasant weather. Actually, I am enjoying it.

Please bring your creativity tools to our Circle, so that reiki can circulate through them and that our group can back you and co-create with you. The creativity tools I am talking about are your gratitude container, your Gallery of Mudita (personal selection of advisors, mentors and role models) and your action map / vision board. I explained them in detail in 2023. Please use last year’s invitations to Earth Send to refresh your mind about the possibilities, what those tools can look like and how you can personalize them, so that they fit you to a T.

If you have incorporated your creativity tools into reiki sends and our mindfulness sessions, you should notice that you are playing with them with ease by now. Every time you touch them and spot them, you feel a nudge to add a little bit more to your gratitude container, you feel grateful for the people who model the skills and traits that you are cultivating now, and you keep fine-tuning your vision board.

You are not only the very centre of your practice; “you yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection”, as the Buddha wisely counseled. Drop into your heart. Commit to your evolution and joy. The inspiration, peace and loving kindness that you broadcast to others, give that to yourself first.

Your creativity tools feature more and more of what you are becoming, savouring and radiating out. Take a good look at what and whom you are grateful for and what topics are surfacing on your lists and in your sketches and crafts.

If so far you have been reluctant to bring your manifestation tools to our session, include them today and remember to bring them next Friday.

In the last ten days, I have been getting rid of clutter. Once I got going, I got rid of more than I imagined I would. Many wisdom traditions and Feng Shui recommend that we “live with the things we love”. In other words, that we live with only those things that we love without ifs and buts.

Perhaps you are not ready to replace all objects that you use with objects that you love enthusiastically? Alright. Loving everything that we possess is a tall order. But hold the thought for a while. Assume that you could. What would change?

It is no secret that in every household, there are things that are not in use and not loved, and the prospects of them being used and loved are slim. This is the stuff that I decided to let go.

After the above average stress of the last 3 months, it was marvelously restorative to give attention to my household. I noticed that indeed I can surround myself with things I love. The time has come to shed stuff that reminds me of the past, of mediocre chapters and of memories of too little comfort. I will spend this weekend clearing out, lightening and jazzing up rooms and donating bags of stuff.

A common guideline is to get the cleaning and revamping done before the New Year begins. Well, I am not aiming for perfection now. I am already grateful to participate in the process of decluttering and renewal. I wish I had gone for it a bit earlier. Ha ha. It is all good. Some people will clear out their pantries after carnival next week. February is a fine month to empty out drawers, cabinets, closets, shelves, desks, storage rooms, garages and attics, to clean out and dust off and reorganize these spaces, to fix corners that need fixing and to let fresh air in.

I will be in session several times today. I send my warm thanks to all who have sent healing to my foot and me. I appreciate it more than I can express. Fate ordered that I rest. I enrolled in educational programs that have been surprisingly delicious, and I pulled away from interests and situations that were counterproductive and asymmetrical. Deprivations and the drama in our lives can lead us to think that we have to work harder to get results, but upon examination, many of those commotions and spectacles are burdens that test us about when we will put them down.

If you are observing Valentine’s Day next week, may it be the best one you had. I am grateful to the couples who make us believe in love.

Of course, noone needs a commercialized fiesta to have a good day of pleasure, warmth and connection, or of appreciation of friends, be they paired-up or single, or of other worthwhile rituals of gratitude and self-renewal; but all reminders to be loved and love are welcome to a healthy mind. Unfortunately, mass consciousness has forgotten what healthy means, how a healthy mind would function, and that love would be a priority in a more healed world. Still, we don’t have to be part of the confusion.

We can be part of the knowing and the appreciation.

In gassho, in metta, I humbly receive.
