I Take Refuge In You

  • on 16 April 2013

Here, he said,

rest in my chest.

There is enough space for everyone...

And he pointed at his heart.

To his surprise

and my own,

I sank my head

onto his heart

and fell asleep.

In my dream,

an angel combed my hair,

combed my mind

into sunrise

and dawn dipped into gold

all fatigue and unkindness

and this note:

Nan, you’re my sangha too.

You’ve been here for me so many times.

Thank you

for letting me be there for you.

Rest in my chest

again.
